Founded in 1977 by Mr. M Y Khan, the eponymous indian restaurant is still going strong.  An institution in my college years, I first visited Kahn’s in 1992 for a dinner made famous in our family.  19 people, dishes and beer for all, cost £60.  A quicker, cheaper, tastier curry in London I do not know.

The onion Bhajis, Tandoori specialties and amazing nans are all well known.  A standout is the Paneer Tikka, a plate of cottage cheese marinated with yoghurt, lightly spiced & cooked in the tandoori oven.  The Biryanis (rice based dishes) are another favorite along with quite delicious organic juices.

I’m happy to say after 18 years, Kahn’s has continued the same traditions that made it a perennial favorite.
