The Pedras Salgadas Spa and Nature Park feels something of an anachronism. A thermal spa dating from 19th-century Portugal.
All the original buildings restored by Pritzker award-winning architect, Alvaro Siza Vieira. The out of time vibe comes as Vieira kept it’s old-world romantic feel, while updating and adding.
Key to the update are 12 pre-fabricated eco-cabins, and 2 tree houses. Designed by architect Luis Rebelo de Andrade, winning him the Building of the Year award in 2012.
Being inside the compact capsule, makes you feel as if you were the star in a sci-fi film!
We decided to stay in a tree house, and we did! In the one named Garca Real. I am happy to say, “it is award worthy!” Being inside the compact capsule, makes you feel as if you were the star in a sci-fi film!
Throughout your stay in Portugal, you will find the distinctive green bottles of Pedras Salgadas Natural Spring Water. Here you are drinking from, its source! Find the Mineral Spring kiosks inside the spa, and you can sample direct from the earth. Its as clean as water gets! As guests, you enjoy an unlimited supply of both the bottled flat and sparkling water.

Note: A well portioned Breakfast is served in your room. For outdoor enthusiasts, Pedras Salgadas Spa & Nature Park has numerous trails and complementary bicycle loans for guests.

The spa is very European classic in look & feel. You can really feel the contrast to a modern spa – like the floating Bota Bota in Montreal or the classic japanese bathhouses in Kurukawa-Onsen, Japan.
